 That’s a wrap on Sunset Showdown 2025! This was perhaps our most successful competition to date :). We were joined in Alliance 3 with Team 604B, Quixilver, and Team 2854, the Prototypes, finishing as the 3rd top alliance in the playoffs!! We also won the Controls and Autonomous Award, awarded to a team with well designed, automated control schemes.
Thank you so much to Team 5924, Golden Gate Robotics, for hosting this event. We had so much fun meeting new people, trying out new roles, and watching the mentor matches :D.

 This weekend we had the incredible opportunity to represent FIRST Robotics at Open Sauce 2025 in San Mateo. Over two action-packed days, we demoed our competition robot, connected with thousands of attendees, and shared the excitement of STEM and robotics with makers, engineers, and curious minds.
Huge thanks to the OpenSauce organizers for having us, and to everyone who stopped by to learn more about what we do. We’re honored to be among the creators at Open Sauce again this year! We’re so excited to meet and learn from other creators in the Bay Area. Open Sauce is an event where exhibitors, makers, and innovators of all kinds come together to share their designs, share advice on panels, and give talks. We will be displaying our 2025 FRC robot, Dynamene---come by and see our booth! WHEN: July 18-20 WHERE: San Mateo County Event Center  We had a documentary film made about us!! Director Ellie Wen showed the world a behind-the-scenes view on our team. It was shown at many different film festivals, and even appeared on KQED! We will be managing a booth at their farmers market and night market. Stop by to meet our team, see our robot, and play some games!   This weekend, Calliope competed at the inaugural Sunset Showdown. This offseason competition was first of its kind, held aboard the retired USS Hornet in Alameda, CA. From mentor matches (rip our computer) to human matches, we loved the energy on the Hornet. We were thrilled to compete in the elimination rounds with teams 766 M-A bears, 5419 Berkelium and 9470 Ctrl-Alt-Defeat! Individually, Calliope ranked 13th out of 40 robots, and we won the Engineering Excellence Award.   Going to Sunset Showdown, hosted by Golden Gate Robotics, team 5924! We’ve been hard at work preparing Calliope for the event (so excited to be on the USS Hornet 😆🎉).
