We had a documentary film made about us!! Director Ellie Wen showed the world a behind-the-scenes view on our team. It was shown at many different film festivals, and even appeared on KQED! See more about the documentary and Wen on the documentary website.

Thank you to everyone that visited us on Sunday at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market and Mercantile!! Looking forward to the Friday, 8/30 Night Market and the Sunday, 9/1 Farmers Market!  Announcing our newest sponsor and partner, Sunset Mercantile. We’re so grateful for the chance to work with them! We will be managing a booth at their farmers market and night market. Stop by to meet our team, see our robot, and play some games!   This weekend, Calliope competed at the inaugural Sunset Showdown. This offseason competition was first of its kind, held aboard the retired USS Hornet in Alameda, CA. From mentor matches (rip our computer) to human matches, we loved the energy on the Hornet. We were thrilled to compete in the elimination rounds with teams 766 M-A bears, 5419 Berkelium and 9470 Ctrl-Alt-Defeat! Individually, Calliope ranked 13th out of 40 robots, and we won the Engineering Excellence Award.   Going to Sunset Showdown, hosted by Golden Gate Robotics, team 5924! We’ve been hard at work preparing Calliope for the event (so excited to be on the USS Hornet 😆🎉).

Open Sauce is an event where exhibitors, makers, and innovators of all kinds come together to share their designs, share advice on panels, and give talks. We will be displaying Calliope, our 2024 FRC robot, and provide attendees with an interactive game (with prizes!). Hope to see you on June 15-16!  Calliope recently made her final appearance at FIRST's East Bay Regional. The event brought 60 teams from four countries across the globe to Berkeley, CA, for the last CRESCENDO matches before Houston's Championships. After nine Qualification matches, Iron Claw (972) of Los Gatos picked 6418 for their playoff alliance alongside The BioMechs (841) of Richmond. Our alliance progressed through four thrilling elimination matches against top teams—including the eventual winners and third-place finishers—ending the season with another fourth-place alliance finish. Although Calliope, as she currently is, will be retiring from on-season competitions, we're still looking forward to her future: off-season events, a new drivetrain, and outreach events!
